Literary agencies organize by quarters so I spend the end of each quarter/beginning of the next taking stock of my work and what I need to do for the next three months. It seems a good time to catalog my personal reading, too!
To read my first quarterly reading list and explanation of how I categorize, link is here.
Zach Williams, BEAUTIFUL DAYS: Stories - Audio
Vivian Gornick, FIERCE ATTACHMENTS: Memoir - paperback purchased for $1 in Provincetown
ON TIME AND WATER - Audio. Two nonfiction books in a row!
Halle Butler, BANAL NIGHTMARE - purchased in hardcover
Edith Wharton, THE HOUSE OF MIRTH - purchased paperback on vacation & partner and I read the same copy for a social bookclub
Rebecca K. Reilly, GRETA & VALDIN - Audio
Oisín McKenna, EVENINGS & WEEKENDS - was given a hardcover by an editor
Sheila Heti, ALPHABETICAL DIARIES - Audio. Kate Berlant’s reading here is so good.

Daniel Immerwahr, HOW TO HIDE AN EMPIRE: A History of the Greater United States - Audio
Hisham Matar, MY FRIENDS - a galley I found on the street in Brooklyn
Exactly half as many books as last quarter! This was an atypical season for my reading I suppose; July was really busy for work, August I did more socializing and vacationing, and every free moment for reading this September I’ve spent on requested manuscripts.
I love walking around my neighborhood with an audiobook and I’m working on a craft project that goes by faster while listening to something, so most of the books I’ve finished have been audio; I have a small stack of half-read physical books I hope to get to pick back up in October.

I loved fierce attachments! Also stumbled upon a used copy and now cherish it. I love how easily she slips back and forth between the walks with her mom and then the past/growing up
